We are using iNaturalist to monitor our work

Working bee, Sunday 14 April 2024 at Moonlight Creek, 9:00 AM start
We will again work at Moonlight Creek to continue preparation for a planting later in the year.
We will take advantage of the deep soil furrowing done recently by our contractor and again work at Moonlight Creek to continue preparation for planting later in the year. It is looking tidier now, thanks to recent efforts by our volunteers and the contractor. We will rake over newly dug sites and continue to weed existing sites where the plants already there are growing nicely now. Some rock removal from new sites will be useful, but easier than in 2022. We are now seeing less Phalaris aquatica and the beginnings of an indigenous grassland where small birds can flourish.
We would love our volunteers to keep being part of the journey so if we get time after morning tea, we will walk you to a nearby 2019 planting along Forest Creek that might give you some inspiration. The working bee will be near entrance E2 - see map on our website.

Drive along Happy Valley Road for about 1km, follow it around a sharp right-hand bend, then turn right just after the creek crossing. You can probably drive along the side of the creek and park there if you are carrying lots of stuff. But park carefully on the road and walk in if it is looking a bit boggy.
