Planting WORKING BEE Sunday 28th June 2026 9:30 am at IFF site on Forest Creek
Hooray, we are into PLANTING SEASON.
We need lots of people to turn up, so please see if you can fit us in.
We start planting at the Indigenous Food and Fibre (IFF) site on Sunday 28th June at 9:30. We are aiming for about 1000 plants here in June and July. Luckily, most of the holes have been pre-augured by a team from Djandak, and now we do the planting.
We would welcome some rainwater in clean two-litre bottles, if you have clean used milk bottles at home. We find this is one of the easiest ways to get water to each plant in a spread-out planting area.
There are two routes to this site:
If there is significant rain, the creek might start flowing. So use entrance E10 (see map on our website).

Leaving Castlemaine, cross the creek and turn left opposite McGrath St onto an unmnamed road. Follow it around to the right and up the hill. Park on the grass and walk down to creek level.
Or, come via entrance E4. Turn off Duke Street into Burke Street opposite the old Best Motors site, travel 200m along what becomes Happy Valley Road, and park near the intersection with Verlin St. Walk 100m along the walking track to the first flat area as a meeting point.
